So, I finally did it. Here’s my process for developing a professional voicemail message in 10 steps:
There was a time once we were mad for the funny voicemail greetings, creative voicemail greetings, it seems like that time has gone, now everyone leaves WhatsApp and iMessage instead of voicemails. When you slow down your speech, you are giving the caller time to acknowledge the information that you are giving. Therefore, breathe naturally.
You have reached (Your Name) at (Your Business). I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to get to the phone. If you leave your name and number, I’ll return your call within one business day.
29. Hi, this is [your name] at [X company]. I am on vacation right now and won’t be back to the office until [X date]! Please leave me your name, phone number, and the reason you are calling, and I will get back to you then. Alternatively, you can phone [Name] at [phone contact information]. Thank you for calling!
Make sure you make this as clear as possible and consider repeating the website address so that they have time to note it down if needed.

Your voice mailbox has six types of greetings. The two greetings most users set are: The Standard greeting that callers hear before they leave you a message. The Alternate greeting that tells callers that you will be away from work for an extended period of time, such as when you take a vacation. Press 4, Setup Options. Press 1, Change Your Greeting. Press 4 to play all your greetings.

14. “Thanks for giving us a call! We promise it’s never a bad time for [company name], but you’ve reached us after-hours. Yet that doesn’t mean you don’t want to help your caller. Let them know you’ll call them right back when you’re open again.

There is no definitive answer here, but you should include one of the two at the beginning of your message based on what makes the most sense.
