BrightLocal surveyed 500 US consumers to learn about how they use Google My Business and how they interact with businesses they see in search results. That’s a pretty small sample size, but they found that 60 percent of respondents chose to call businesses after looking them up on Google.

Your phone greetings should reflect your company’s personality. As with any other business material, the best practice is to maintain a consistent voice. Make sure that the greetings in place follow the same brand guidelines as your marketing and sales materials.
If the company greeting is being used by a live agent, you can use this part of the message to relay information in a quick, convenient way, like “Are you calling regarding our Biggest Sale of the Year?” It gives them information they may not have had otherwise, even if they’re calling for something completely unrelated.
