Only one out of every five customers will listen to your voicemail if they don’t recognize your number. With listen rates that low, your response rates are going to be abysmal. If you have a front desk receptionist or another employee making outbound calls, you’re going to have a hard time making that worth your while.

1. State Your Business Name. The first thing your callers should hear is the name of your business or organization. This assures them that they have dialed the right phone number and keeps them on the line.
A busy greeting should tell callers that your phone lines are currently in use. You can direct people to wait on hold or leave a message. For example, “Hello, you’ve reached [company name]. Our representatives are currently helping other customers. Please stay on the line to speak with the next available team member, or press one to leave a message and we’ll call you back.”
Select the function you want to assign to each number or function key on the dialpad.
Your custom greetings are stored in your account for you to easily switch between messages for your menu greeting and menu items. Personalized greetings give your business a polished image. Easy to record or upload Multiple file formats accepted: M4A, MP3 or WAV Simple to switch between stored messages
3. Use informal language with family and close friends. There’s no need to be professional when you are talking to people that you know well. Use slang language and words if they will know what you mean. However, if you are talking to someone older, like a grandparent, they may not be up to date on all of the slang language that you use. You can say things like, “Hey, what’s up?” and “What’s happening?”
Thank you for calling [Company Name]. If you know your party’s extension, please dial it at any time. To reach our company directory, press 1. For more information about [Company Name], press 2.
