You’ve probably heard people argue that most consumers want to talk to a real person on the phone. Nobody likes speaking out loud to an auto attendant and trying to guess what it can understand. But according to ZipWhip’s survey of 1,000 consumers, there’s a different channel most people would prefer to use for customer service: texting.
There is no definitive answer here, but you should include one of the two at the beginning of your message based on what makes the most sense.

If you have a main business phone number that’s shared with the customers or publicly listed, you’ll want to make sure it has a professional voicemail message to greet callers. Here are sample greetings you can use to help you craft your own.
If you are recording a voicemail message for business, be sure you include your name and your company's name, so people know who they are calling and were they are reaching them. If you do not include the business name, they may think they have mistakenly called you at your personal number. You will also want to make sure to give callers the option to speak to someone who is currently available, an operator or other representative, by pressing a certain key (check with IT personnel to see what this might be).
411 Locals monitored phone calls of 85 businesses for 30 days. Those businesses were spread across 58 industries, and on average, they were only able to answer 37.8 percent of all inbound calls. Another 37.8 percent of callers wound up in the business’ voicemail box, and 24.3 percent didn’t receive a response of any kind from the business. No one answered, and there was no chance to even leave a voicemail.
Lastly, the configuration is complex (especially if you have never dealt with these systems before) and the documentation is sparse. This package came from Telco Depot, however, and despite my having worked with similar system before, I did have 2 small problems which I called the tech support number about. The technicians were extremely helpful!! My issue only took about 20 seconds to solve and on my second call, the tech connected remotely to my computer and walked me through the configuration step I was getting wrong.
