T-Mobile: T-Mobile has a similar story to tell as Verizon. Instead of allowing you to set up a specific basic voicemail, it instead directs you to Apple to set up Visual Voicemail. I dont see anything that you have written when I try to set up voicemail on my new Iphone11. I tap on voicemail and the only option is 'Call voicemail' … then it doesn't accept my mobile number.

Thanks for the explanation. It does indeed sound like there’s no convenient solution till your whole system gets revamped. To briefly explain *why* I don’t want your voicemail enabled: I use my USMobile number as a forwarding line for Google Voice. Google Voice’s voicemail is frankly superior to yours so I want to use it exclusively. When your voicemail kicks in it interferes with Google Voice’s operation, causing me frustration and a real mess. I’ll give some thought to whether I want to be bothered with going through a quarterly exercise of calling and re-disabling your voicemail.
Visual voicemail is an easy way to check your missed messages. You can see a list of voicemails along with the date it occurred and the length, and you choose which calls to listen to and delete.
So make sure you connect with them to make sure you have it. If you don't see that play on the record and that way you'll just have to basically record and use a different device to call them yourself, to hear your voicemail. I hope you found this useful. Alright let me try to clear this problem as much as I can. From the parent carrier, we have a limitation or you can say a requirement that all numbers should have the Voicemail set up. So what we do for those customers who don’t want it, we disable it from our side but again the numbers keep syncing from the parent carrier’s network from time to time (roughly once a quarter). When the numbers get synced, voicemail automatically gets enabled. To some people, this is alright but sometimes it becomes inconvenience for the customers to call us again to disable it.
