5. Check your voicemail inbox. Once you're in your voicemail system, you may have to do things slightly differently than how they're done in this tutorial, depending on your telecom carrier and/or voicemail client.

If you don’t know what to say in your voicemail, here’s a few pointers to get you started: Make sure that you’re not yelling into the phone and the message is recorded in a somewhat quiet area. If the message is for work, try to keep it professional and avoid mistakes, if possible. If you’re working in retail, apologize for not picking up and note that you will call them back. Regardless of your occupation, try to keep the message short. It shouldn’t be longer than 25 seconds. If the voicemail is personal, feel free to leave a silly, short message that lets the caller know it’s you.
Call recordings are forwarded to you via email and appear in Google Voice's list of voice mail recordings. You can generally tell the difference between voice mail messages and recorded conversations because the latter are probably longer, and say "Transcription not available."
When you get a voicemail, you can check your message from the notification on your phone. Swipe down from the top of the screen. Tap Voicemail .
Change your voicemail password: Go to Settings > Phone > Change Voicemail Password, then enter the new password.
