When it comes to making phone calls, nothing can leave one more in the dark than leaving a message on a voice mailbox that hasn’t been set up yet. However, if you happen to be in the dark in regards to setting up your voicemail, we’re going to walk you through the process to avoid confusion on your end. With this being said, here’s a look at how to set up your iPhone voicemail.
There are plenty of options for business voicemail messages, including professional greetings, casual messages, and even funny ones. Consider your brand voice and target audience to choose the tone. And include directions for those who call.

On your iPhone, go to the Phone app and tap the Voicemail icon. 2. Choose a greeting and password and click Set up. 3. Then, confirm the voicemail password you just created. Ideally, passwords will contain no more than seven digits, but at least four. 4. You may choose between default or custom greeting on the next screen. Pre-selected defaults
Important note: In some states, such as California, it’s illegal to record calls or conversations without permission from all parties involved. If that’s the case, ask your call participants if it’s OK if you record the conversation before you start recording. Then, ask again once you do start recording—so you have their permission on record. Alternatively, if you state “I’m recording this call for [whatever purpose]” and your contact stays on the line, that’s OK as well.
When you select a voicemail, you can review and access details and other information—all on the right side of Teams.

You have reached (Your Name) at (Your Business). We help (What Your Business Does). I wasn’t able to take your call right now, but leave your name and number and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
At this point, we can’t be exactly sure why your iPhone won’t play voicemails. The voicemail you play in the Phone app on your iPhone is called Visual Voicemail, which downloads your voicemails from your carrier in the form of little audio files, similar to the music files you listen to inside the Music app.

To record a new voicemail greeting, click the gear icon in the upper-right corner of your screen and select "Voice Settings.". Go to the "Voicemail & Text" tab to view your voicemail settings. Click "Record New," which may also say "Record New Message Using Phone.".

7. Once your voicemail announces that setup is complete, you can hang up the call.
For those who are satisfied with the Default greeting for their iPhone voicemail setup, you can skip this step by clicking ‘Done’.
So as you could see on top is buffering. So I got to wait a minute and then once that's done, I'm going to press custom here. So now when it says to set your outgoing message, I'm going to choose custom here and I could basically press record. I don't have one yet. So if I did, it would allow me to play it and listen to it.
2. Try calling your voicemail directly. Open Phone → Make sure you are on Keypad → Press and hold the number 1 for a few seconds. It will call your voicemail; You can check your voicemails here.
At present, you have to record your greeting by recording directly into the iPhone microphone -- the results of which are average, of course.
