With voicemail all set up, you can now access and listen to your messages. In the Phone app next to the Voicemail tab, you’ll see a badge with a number, which represents the unheard messages you have. To listen to your messages, open Phone app and tap Voicemail at the lower right side of the screen.
While recording a message, make sure that you don’t yell into the phone and make sure you record in a quiet place. Setting this up in a restaurant will make your iPhone voicemail greeting sound like you are actually picking up the phone.

The reason these hacks work is that it is possible to access your voicemail from another phone by calling the voicemail number for your network and then entering your unique voicemail PIN. For example, If you are with EE you can dial 07953 222222 from any phone and just enter your voicemail PIN to listen to your messages.
One cool iOS feature is called Visual Voicemail. This is Apple’s attempt to make voicemail less annoying. Visual Voicemail allows you to see a transcription of the voicemail the caller left. This transcription allows you to read their voicemail as if it were a text message.
Calls will still technically be delivered to your phone, but your phone will not alert you to the call. This is a handset block and not a network block. You can put a network block on persistent telemarketers, but you need to contact your network provider for that. To view voicemails from blocked calls, go to Voicemail, then scroll all the way to the bottom and tap “Blocked Messages.”

First from your phone’s main menu, access the dial pad. Once you are on this page you will now press and hold down on the number 1 icon on the dial pad. This will allow you access to your voicemail.
Head over to Settings → Phone → Call Forwarding → Ensure the toggle is set to off.
After putting phone in airplane mode, deleting message, I had to turn phone off and re-boot. It seems to have worked!

Now select “Greeting” in the upper left of the screen. Tap “Custom” and then “Record” to record your personalized voicemail greeting.

Changes can be made to voicemail settings on the phone through the voicemail options audio menu only after the initial voicemail password has been set up in Account Manager, Work for Desktop, or Virtual Office Online.
