A downside to these apps—they are not as simple as hitting a key on the number pad, because you have to do the extra steps to make the merge happen with the third number doing the recording. However, they can all be activated in the middle of any phone call; afterwards you get easy access to recordings in the app and can play, download, share, or export them as desired.
Jan 21, 2008 · Where "(your phone number)" is your 11-digit phone number (including 1 and the area code), and "15" is the number of seconds (from 5 to 30 in 5 second increments) that you want your phone to ring before going to voicemail. Thanks for the explanation. It does indeed sound like there’s no convenient solution till your whole system gets revamped. To briefly explain *why* I don’t want your voicemail enabled: I use my USMobile number as a forwarding line for Google Voice. Google Voice’s voicemail is frankly superior to yours so I want to use it exclusively. When your voicemail kicks in it interferes with Google Voice’s operation, causing me frustration and a real mess. I’ll give some thought to whether I want to be bothered with going through a quarterly exercise of calling and re-disabling your voicemail.
My iPhone always seems to jump to voicemail before I answer it. I need to increase the call forward delay. By increasing the delay before the call is transferred to voicemail, I have a better chance of grabbing it. As expected, the caller will hear an increased number of rings before being transferred.
On Android, a variety of apps can record a call directly, unless the phone manufacturer blocks it. On iPhone, recording phone calls is blocked, period. The apps that do exist to record a call—and there are quite a few—have a workaround, but it will usually cost you.
