The telephone systems have the feature named as Voicemail. VoIP is the best example of it. When a receiver is unable to pick up the phone, then the caller can leave the voice message on the receiver’s phone. In older telephonic machines, such messages were stored as a voice message directly, and the receiver can hear them later. In modern telephone systems, such info is being stored on the server of the service provider in the user’s mailbox. It is similar to email in which the messages are saved in the form of audio instead of text.

Is there any way for me to record it to save his voice to some other media so I can replay it to hear him again?(both he and my dad,his brother passed away). Are there any home phone systems available that either record to a removeable chip, cassette, or whatever which can be saved other than an audio recording to another audio recorder which declines its quality significantly?

However, there are a few different “types” of a voicemail that you may be able to have on your device. One is a Visual Voicemail and the other is just a standard voicemail that you had on your landline a few years ago. Visual voicemail lets you physically see and play all of the voicemails, while regular is just done through the following audio prompts to hear your voicemails. Visual Voicemail is only offered throughout certain providers (and some might make you pat extra), so there is no guarantee that you will have it on your device.
