Each carrier has a different method for setting up voicemail, and we’ve provided a brief description of how to do it (and where to find instructions) where applicable below.
.
If you’re calling from your own phone, you’ll be able to access your voicemail without entering a PIN. This will happen even if you’ve previously set one up.
From transcription and voice to text to more convenient features of handling multiple phones through one number, availability varies by service. Shared voicemail and call routing is intended for multiple access and directing calls to one or multiple phones. Mobile apps are also available that allow you to check your messages from your phone.
You can also set your Galaxy A series smartphone to record all the calls (or selectively record calls to and from select numbers) automatically without the need to hit the record button. If you frequently record calls, this feature is quite useful, and here’s how you can do it:
However, most networks do allow you to adjust the length of time that the phone rings before switching to voicemail by dialing in a long code number. On Vodafone this is **61*121*11* followed by the number of seconds and then the hash symbol (#). So to set your phone to ring for 20 seconds you’d dial **61*121*11*20*.

To set up your voicemail, press #55 or *68 from your home phone or call the retrieval number you received with your welcome letter. Voice prompts will guide you through the rest of the steps.
A busy greeting should tell callers that your phone lines are currently in use. You can direct people to wait on hold or leave a message. For example, “Hello, you’ve reached [company name]. Our representatives are currently helping other customers. Please stay on the line to speak with the next available team member, or press one to leave a message and we’ll call you back.”

So as you could see on top is buffering. So I got to wait a minute and then once that's done, I'm going to press custom here. So now when it says to set your outgoing message, I'm going to choose custom here and I could basically press record. I don't have one yet. So if I did, it would allow me to play it and listen to it.
Of course, there are a few things you will always want to keep in mind when you are recording any message. First, a voicemail greeting can be your first impression, so you'll always want to take the time to think about what you'll say when you record it. You might want to write a script or just go over what you'll say in your head. Be sure to ask callers for their name, a message, and a call back number, or you might get stuck with "Hey, it's me, call me back" (I'm notorious for leaving messages like this). Be sure you practice speaking slowly and clearly as you deliver your short, to the point message. It's also a good idea to leave 1 to 2 seconds of silence before you begin speaking, so callers have time to absorb your message. You can also use a cloud service to backup everything you want to save from your phone or download an app made for saving messages, like VoicemailSaver. It costs $3.99 but it saves your messages, even if your phone is broken or stolen. For free options, try HulloMail or InstaVoice.
