An option with far fewer cables is the RecorderGear PR200. It records your conversation via Bluetooth. The call button in the middle of the device can answer calls on the Bluetooth-connected phone. Hold the PR200 up to your head to talk and listen, as if it's the phone. It also features a USB end to quickly access recordings on the computer. It will hold about 144 hours of conversation before it fills up the 4GB of storage. It also records like any digital recorder sans smartphone, since it has an external pin-hole microphone.
If your iPhone has support (via your mobile carrier) for 3-way calling and Visual voice mail, you have an option for the cheapest workaround of all.

Thanks for the explanation. It does indeed sound like there’s no convenient solution till your whole system gets revamped. To briefly explain *why* I don’t want your voicemail enabled: I use my USMobile number as a forwarding line for Google Voice. Google Voice’s voicemail is frankly superior to yours so I want to use it exclusively. When your voicemail kicks in it interferes with Google Voice’s operation, causing me frustration and a real mess. I’ll give some thought to whether I want to be bothered with going through a quarterly exercise of calling and re-disabling your voicemail.
Open the “Settings” on your phone.Go to “Phone Apps or “System Apps” and open it.
*Note: Some of your users don’t celebrate all the same holidays you do. Remember to keep these voicemail greetings neutral 🌟
Hi, this is [your name] of [your business]. I’m currently unable to take your call. Please leave your name, phone number, and a brief message, and I will contact you as soon as possible. Thanks.
If you have voicemails saved on a non-smart phone, your best bet is to record them on a computer. This is a method that requires some equipment, but not as much as you might think.
Step 2: It will prompt a phone call to the voicemail service. Follow the prompts and do what the voice tells you too.
If they don’t leave a message, you’ll never know who called. Some people may assume they should just call back later. But if you prefer to get back to them at your leisure, encourage them to leave a message.
2.) You are connected to the mailbox of Mr. John Doe. Please leave a message that Mr. Doe can call you back as soon as possible. Many thanks for your call.
15. “Hi, Thanks for giving us a call! Sorry, but we are closed right now. Please leave us your name, number and the best time to reach you and we’ll get back to you within the day. Thank you.”
If you are recording a voicemail message for business, be sure you include your name and your company's name, so people know who they are calling and were they are reaching them. If you do not include the business name, they may think they have mistakenly called you at your personal number. You will also want to make sure to give callers the option to speak to someone who is currently available, an operator or other representative, by pressing a certain key (check with IT personnel to see what this might be).
Step 3: Once the call is underway, click the 3-dot menu button that you can see on the top-right corner of the phone’s screen.
Setting up a new voicemail message is the same on any iPhone that runs iOS 9 or higher. Use the steps below to set a custom iPhone voicemail message.
