First I would check the phone to see if it saved the greeting to its files. Some phones do and some don’t. If you are unable to find the voicemail greeting file, google the question for your type of phone. If you’re unable to find it or do it, call youe cell phone carrier to see if they can help. Some carriers still save voicemail greetings on their systems. It’s a great reminder though that if you have a greeting you really want to keep, to make sure you record it and save it to your computer and to a flash drive or cloud drive for good measure. To get in touch with your friends, you had to call their home phone and if they weren't there, leave a message. Voicemails were ubiquitous, and we didn't think twice about leaving them. Now, texting is so common that most of us never leave voicemails, let alone set up our own. But it's worthwhile to have a voicemail on your iPhone. For one, if you miss a call from a potential employer, it'll sound more professional than whatever the default robot-voice message is. It's also good to have in the event that someone important, like your doctor, boss, or lawyer, calls. Luckily, setting up your voicemail on an iPhone is incredibly simple. Here's how to do it. How to set up voicemail on your iPhone 1. Open the Phone app on your iPhone. It's green with an image of a phone, and it's located in the dock at the bottom of your Home Screen by default. 2. If you’ve already created a custom voicemail on your iPhone, you can tap Play to see how your voicemail sounds. If you’re interested in creating a new message, tap the Custom button. From here, you can start recording your message by tapping Record and tapping Stop whenever you’re finished. Once you’re finished recording, tap on Play to make sure the message comes across as you’d like and hit Save (in the upper right) to save it as your voicemail.
