Cell phone voicemail greetings are generally more personal and casual than office phones. Consider a greeting like “Hello, you’ve reached [your name]’s cell phone. I can’t take your call at the moment, but if you leave a brief message, I’ll get back to you as quickly as possible.”
To turn your iPhone off, press and hold the power button until you see the red power icon and slide to power off appear on the display of your iPhone. Using your finger, slide the red power icon from left to right. Wait about 30 seconds before turning your iPhone back on, just to make sure it completely shuts down.

If you persistently can’t save your greeting, you may need to reset your phone’s network settings. The iPhone needs to access your network’s data connection to save changes to your voice mail configuration, and if it can’t connect to 3G or 4G, it won’t save the changes.
I can access my voicemail from my phone just fine. I’m just cheap and used Hangout/Google Voice to save my minutes.
12. “Hello, you’ve reached the Customer Support department at [company name]. We are unable to take your call at the moment. We know your time is valuable so instead of placing you on hold, let us call you back! Please leave your name, phone number, the reason for your call, and two different times that are convenient for you to receive a call back from us. Thank you!” Get a better idea of your caller’s schedule by asking them for a few different times you can call back. Their time is important, too!
Step 5: Tap Done to save your greeting, and officially setting up your Visual Voicemail.
This data usage will be taken from your data allowance when the message is received. Once the message is received, it can be listened to without any further data connection & without incurring further cost.
Note: If necessary, delete an existing greeting (limit of 2 greetings) to make room for the new greeting: Tap the Menu key, tap Delete greetings, tap the check box next to the desired greeting, and then tap Delete. Now, back to those special memories. If you find yourself listening to an old voicemail over and over — for sentimental reasons or otherwise — don't bet on your phone to save it for you indefinitely.

It works similar to the old answering machine, with the only difference is that the old answering machine will store the voice message in the machine itself, while your phone’s voicemail system will store the voicemail in your service provider server. You can also forward the voicemail message to someone else’s mailbox.
