1 hours agoThe original iPhone promised us visual voicemail in 2007. I was blown away by it. Finally, here was a way to see all voicemail messages in a list (like incoming emails) and be able to tap on them to hear them. Unfortunately, even 10 years after the launch of the iPhone, this feature is still not available on all networks, including Three in the UK.
Call your home phone number. Press # to interrupt the greeting, and then enter your PIN. Follow the prompts to listen to your messages. (Note: In some areas, the # key will not interrupt the greeting. Try pressing * or 2 instead.)
I am and have been trying to set up voicemail for my iPhone 11 purchased at the Waycross store. This is not working for me. I got to the screen where I put in my password and where I was to set up a greeting. There were no instructions past that. I recorded a message but never heard a beep or confirmation that my voicemail greeting was complete. I have tried several time in succession to try and play the message but nothing happens. i just have greeting in the top left and when i record it and save it does not offer a voicemail message for a caller when someone calls
“Hi! You have reached [your business]. All of our staff are currently busy helping other callers. We will return your call within two business hours. Thanks!”
You can change your voicemail settings from the Skype for Business Settings page. You can get to the page by using one of the following methods:
Just NowSet up Visual Voicemail. If your carrier supports Visual Voicemail, you can set it up with these steps: Go to the Phone app, then tap the Voicemail tab. Tap Set Up Now. Create a voicemail password, then tap Done. Enter your password again to confirm it, then tap Done. Select Custom or Default. If you choose Custom, you can record a new greeting.
Call 800-201-4099. A representative will ask you a series of questions to verify your identity, and then will reset your PIN for you.
Open your Phone app. Tap Voicemail. Select Greeting. By default, your voicemail will be setup with your carrier's generic greeting. To record a custom greeting, select Custom. Tap Record to begin recording your voicemail greeting. When you finish recording, tap Stop. To make sure you're happy with your new greeting, tap Play.

Even if your tariff includes free voicemail the chances are that it’s not turned on by default. Turning voicemail on or off is generally quite straightforward, as you just need to dial a special number on your phone. With Vodafone you dial 1211 to turn on your voicemail, or 1210 to turn it off, and most other networks work in a similar fashion.
Step 3: All you have to do now is enter your carrier’s code. You may easily obtain this code by visiting the official website of your carrier. Some of the most popular carrier codes are shown here. Verizon (800) 922-0204.Sprint*2AT&T611T-Mobile611Telus:611Vodafone191Docomo151

If you don’t make any changes the default iPhone voicemail message is pretty bland and not very professional. It is a good idea to change the iPhone voicemail message to something more professional or at least something that lets callers know they reached the right person.
As a bonus, here is an example of our own holiday voicemail greeting here at OpenPhone:
27. Hey, this is [your name], but you should know that already since you called me. I’m obviously not here right now, so I won’t patronize you by telling you what to do after the tone.
