I wish that I’d read this a few years ago. I think that we all have a few voicemails that we wish that we could keep forever, but I lost a few a couple years ago. I think that my current system stores them in a digital messaging system, like you mentioned, so they should be able to be saved. Thanks for the post!
You may encounter some problems when using your Visual Voicemail. To fix the issue and listen to your messages, follow these steps: Make sure your mobile is up-to-date by accessing Settings > General > Information. Make sure you have the latest version of iOS installed on your iPhone. Test your cellular network connection and reset network settings, if necessary, by pressing Go to Settings > General > Reset. Check that you have properly configured your voicemail by dialing your phone number and leaving a message, both from your mobile and from another device. If you have an extra plan on your mobile, switch over to it to test your first voicemail by leaving a message yourself. Check any missed messages by holding the 1 key on your keypad to call the voicemail.

If you use voice mail or an answering machine to answer calls when you can't, make sure that you have a professional message recorded, that does the same thing as tip #3, and gives callers any other pertinent information before it records their messages. Update your voice mail message as needed.

With voicemail all set up, you can now access and listen to your messages. In the Phone app next to the Voicemail tab, you’ll see a badge with a number, which represents the unheard messages you have. To listen to your messages, open Phone app and tap Voicemail at the lower right side of the screen.
Clicking Save As New Recording will make the edited voicemail appear in the Voicemail Call Log in a beige box right under the original voicemail and include an "Edited" tag. An excellent business voicemail greeting conveys your level of professionalism and competence while also providing your callers with a glimpse into your company’s culture and level of care. As minor as it may seem, your voicemail greeting can instill confidence and trust in your callers or it can be a cause for concern.
Use call answering rules to determine what happens when a caller reaches your voice mail. For example, if you have automatic replies turned on, then you could set up your rule to transfer the caller to a different number. If you have multiple rules, you can specify the order in which they are applied.
Pro tip: You can double-check to see if voicemail is set up on your iPhone by dialing and calling your own phone number in the Keypad of the Phone app, or by calling your iPhone using another phone.
We’re all familiar with this type of voicemail greeting. Simply put, a caller reaches you by dialing your number or extension directly. For an optimal personal voicemail greeting, be clear about who you are, the team you’re on, and when the caller can expect a callback. Unlike company and department voicemail greetings, you may not be able to configure a greeting for open and closed business hours. If that’s the case, use a general voicemail greeting that accommodates both scenarios.
Even if your tariff includes free voicemail the chances are that it’s not turned on by default. Turning voicemail on or off is generally quite straightforward, as you just need to dial a special number on your phone. With Vodafone you dial 1211 to turn on your voicemail, or 1210 to turn it off, and most other networks work in a similar fashion.
If you are setting a new iPhone voicemail message for work, it is a good idea to make sure your message is professional and that you avoid common mistakes. MightyCall recommends not using, “Your call is very important to us…” to start your message.
