Open the phone app and navigate to RecentsFind the telemarketer call.Select the information icon on the right, then scroll down and tap Block this Caller.Calls from that number will be blocked in the future.
Open the Phone app on your iPhone. Tap Voicemail in the bottom right corner of the screen. Tap Set Up Now. Enter a passcode (the passcode must be four to six digits). Tap Done. Re-enter the passcode. Thanks for the explanation. It does indeed sound like there’s no convenient solution till your whole system gets revamped. To briefly explain *why* I don’t want your voicemail enabled: I use my USMobile number as a forwarding line for Google Voice. Google Voice’s voicemail is frankly superior to yours so I want to use it exclusively. When your voicemail kicks in it interferes with Google Voice’s operation, causing me frustration and a real mess. I’ll give some thought to whether I want to be bothered with going through a quarterly exercise of calling and re-disabling your voicemail.
On the Greeting page there are two options. The standard option is to use the default iPhone voicemail message, but you can also record a custom message. If you already have a custom iPhone voicemail message recorded, tap Play to listen to it now. Otherwise tap Custom.
Some networks will provide a special number for you to ring, although with O2 and some others you just have to dial your own mobile phone number and then hit the * key to enter the voicemail system. Again, you’ll need to make sure that you’ve set up a secure PIN for your voicemail to make sure that none of Rupert Murdoch’s minions can hack into your voicemail from the comfort of their desk.
