Open your Phone app. Tap Voicemail. Select Greeting. By default, your voicemail will be setup with your carrier's generic greeting. To record a custom greeting, select Custom. Tap Record to begin recording your voicemail greeting. When you finish recording, tap Stop. To make sure you're happy with your new greeting, tap Play.
Before you get around configuring this feature, make sure you use a provisioned SIM card. For more information about this subject, get in touch with your carrier. Visual Voicemail is also dependent on whether your service provider supports it – some carriers do, and some don’t.

If you have a call forwarding set up, it is likely to cause conflicts with voicemail. To turn off Call Forwarding or make sure it is not enabled:
No you can’t. I just called and asked for it to be turned off completely and was told it is impossible. It’s aggravating to get conflicting information. Obviously either the CS Team member who wrote the previous post, or the employee I just spoke to on the phone, doesn’t know what they’re talking about.
