@Fa5t3r - I would try a wide range of different tones when recording and play them back to see what goes over the best and what projects the image you want people to hear. Remember that some people may be going to hear this message over and over again depending on how often they have to call you so you want it to be very pleasant and not at all irritating.
Cox Business has implemented a feature temporarily that allows you to log into your new voice mailbox and listen to saved messages. This feature is available 30 days after migration during which time you can access your voice mailbox. Press “5” from the main menu to access old voice messages. After a user presses “5”, the system will pause for 3-5 seconds and connect you to your previous mailbox. A user can enter the older PIN to listen to the older messages. After 30 days, Cox Business will remove this temporary access feature. Improvements include enhanced performance and reliability, as well as some new features like Readable Voice Mail.

When you have finished recording your professional voicemail greeting, you may want to have a close friend call your phone number so you can listen to the outgoing message together. That way, you can get her opinion of the voice message before other callers are able to listen to it. If your friend recommends some changes for you, these should be easy to make, because most systems will allow you to delete your outgoing message and re-record it as many times as you would like. A voicemail greeting is a simple message that plays before callers leave a message. It may play either when you don’t answer or if your phone is off. A professional greeting may encourage people to leave messages, which in turn makes it easier for you to get back in touch. Keeping that communication open and efficient may lead to better business relationships. It also helps you put forth a professional image for your business.

A professional voicemail should be short and succinct. Simply introduce your company, ask the caller to leave their information, and let the caller know when to expect a callback.
