One of the things to remember before recording your business voicemail greetings is to identify your pain points. This will help you to state more clearly for your clients in leaving enough context when leaving a voicemail.
An excellent business voicemail greeting conveys your level of professionalism and competence while also providing your callers with a glimpse into your company’s culture and level of care. As minor as it may seem, your voicemail greeting can instill confidence and trust in your callers or it can be a cause for concern.
So, I finally did it. Here’s my process for developing a professional voicemail message in 10 steps:
Your message should be 20 seconds at most. Remember, your clients or co-workers may listen to this dozens of times.
We actually know a top insurance sales guy who did a sales motivational message every day just like this, and people used to call just to listen to his thoughts.
“Hi, you’ve reached three-time fantasy football champion (insert your name) at (insert your company name). Please leave your name, number, and a fun fact about yourself, and I’ll return your call as soon as possible.”
Please leave your contact info, full name, and other details and I’ll call you back once I’m back in the [city/country/area]. Ciao for now!”
Re: Voicemail for Auto Attendant & Call queueing. Yes, believe this was covered earlier, or in another thread. Basically need to have a user with UM/Voicemail enabled in your O365 tenant, then the AA routes to a "person". So it will costs you a full E3 license to enable UM/Voicemail.
While covering all of the relevant information, aim to keep your voicemail to about 20 seconds. You definitely should not ever record a business voicemail longer than 30 seconds, and anything less than 10 seconds will typically mean that you are either speaking too quickly or aren’t providing all of the required information.
Make sure you visit the recording practise page where you can record your phrases and perfect them before putting them on your phone.
