I have been trying to find commands to set a user's Skype for Business voicemail settings using Powershell. Background: I am very new to all of this IT business! :(No on-prem servers. We are fully a "Microsoft Online" shop: Office 365, Skype for Business online, SharePoint online, Azure AD, etc. Here is what I am trying to do:
.
2. Access your voicemail. Dial *98 from your home phone. If you are away from home, dial your access number and follow the prompts, or dial your phone number, then press the * key when you hear the greeting.
If you arenât sure, have a friend listen to it and give you pointers. Itâs always disorienting listening to your own voice, so you might not be able to catch if you sound weird because youâre hearing your voice or because you are actually speaking in a strange manner, but someone who knows you well will be able to clear it right up.
You can set the greeting tone as per your own choice, which would be much interesting. Sometimes we get to hear boring voicemail messages which are not inviting at all to leave behind a message. This happens more frequently in business dealings. To avoid such responses, we have presented you samples of cool voicemail greetings.
20. âHey there! Thanks for calling [company]. We are unable to answer the phone right now but will get back to you right after the holidays. We hope itâs not an emergency, but if so, weâve got you covered. Contact us at [company email/other support lines] and weâll get back to you ASAP. Please be sure to leave your name, phone number, and a brief message to let us know the reason for your call. Thank you and have a great day.â Available even during holiday emergencies? Let your callers know via your voicemail greeting.

You can trick the caller with funny jokes before the actual greeting message beeps. Keep such kind of voicemails for close friends and family members. They will find it amusing soon after making the call. The machine says Hello, not Me. So respond to what the mechanical device orders you. Play the game of in and out to find me out! Listen to the voice after the beep. Yes yes yes, we are not yet in and we do not want to bore you with a long voicemail text. Leave your message after the beep. I cannot lend my ear so I have kept the machine as my assistant. Record. I love your voice! I want to hear you. Speak up to record.
Some Cox Voice customers have caller id masking which displays a different phone number for caller ID than the connected phone line. One example might be when a CEO makes a call from his private line, the caller ID number displays as the main office number rather than the number on his desk. If we have caller id masking on our lines, how does it impact our ability to use Cox Voice Mail?

If you are going to use your own phone to record your greeting, be sure to use a land line. Cell phones canât always be trusted to produce a high quality sound and often the callers will hear distortion, static, or flight information in the background because you decided to record a new message while waiting for your plane at the airport. Always use a land line in a quiet setting to make your recording.
