I had the same problem -- very frustrating! I powered off my iPhone (Held down lock button and then slid the red slide button) and then restarted (hit the lock button). I echo the above comments by JamesWEwing - a generic greeting is totally INappropriate for my Skype account, including the phone number that I PAY for, and I have never received Word One about my carefully prepared greeting being changed.
