If you don’t know what to say in your voicemail, here’s a few pointers to get you started: Make sure that you’re not yelling into the phone and the message is recorded in a somewhat quiet area. If the message is for work, try to keep it professional and avoid mistakes, if possible. If you’re working in retail, apologize for not picking up and note that you will call them back. Regardless of your occupation, try to keep the message short. It shouldn’t be longer than 25 seconds. If the voicemail is personal, feel free to leave a silly, short message that lets the caller know it’s you.

Grazie e arrivederci.
Creating a voicemail greeting might not be fun, but with the scripts I’ve shared, you should have an easier time. No need to practice time and time again — simply plug in your name, company title, and other details, then read it out loud to your phone’s voicemail greeting recorder. With a professional greeting, you’ll continue nurturing prospects even if you don’t pick up the phone.
3. Once there, click on "Greeting" in the top left corner. You can view all your saved voicemails in this menu, as well as set a new greeting.
Please note that if you record an unavailable greeting, it will be used instead of the default message with your name recording.

While there are endless ways you could say hello in a custom voicemail greeting, there are a few main generic lines that most of us have probably heard many times. Hello, you have reached the voicemail of (person of company) we are unable to get to the phone at the moment, please leave your name and number, and we will be happy to call you back soon. Thank you. Thank you for calling (company or person) we are not available or are on the other line with another customer, please hold and a representative will be with you shortly. Thank you for calling (company) if you know the extension of the person you are trying to reach dial it now, for billing press 1, for customer service press 2. or press 0 for the operator. Each professional custom voicemail is unique to the person or the company and can be structured any way you need it to represent your brand, business, or you as a person. There are options such as adding music that also make the voicemail greeting attractive. These are all ideas that we can work on in the free consultation I offer on all projects. It is best if you have the script on a word doc or notepad, and if you need help refining, I can help there also.
We apologize for the inconvenience it has caused you. But unfortunately, customizing voicemail is currently unavailable. Please let me take this as your feedback regarding the changes and will pass them over, along with the related thoughts and opinions from our valued users, to our developers for review. In reply to Aljon_T's post on March 28, 2018 How dumb can you be Microsoft? This is obviously a way to get people to abandon Skype. Voice messaging is such as basic feature and you aren't going to let us customize this. I'll be looking at alternative options that allow me to customize my greeting.
Here are sample greetings you can use to help you craft your own. 1.“Hi! Thanks for calling [company name/your name]. Please leave a brief message and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Have a great day!”. A simple voicemail greeting for your main business line. 2.
Rehearse or write down your message before recording it. Remember that old saying “practice makes perfect?” It’s certainly true when it comes to creating an electronic greeting. The more you’ve rehearsed, the easier the message will be to restate. If you don’t have time to practice, writing down the greeting before recording it – and then reading it aloud from the paper – may help you stay focused on the correct wording.
After the tone, leave your name, number, and tell where you left the money. I’ll get back to you as soon as it’s safe for you to come out of hiding.
3.) Welcome to John Doe. Currently we can not answer your call personally, or you are calling us outside of business hours. Please leave us a message with your name and telephone number - we will call you back as soon as possible. Thank you and good bye.
I wish that I’d read this a few years ago. I think that we all have a few voicemails that we wish that we could keep forever, but I lost a few a couple years ago. I think that my current system stores them in a digital messaging system, like you mentioned, so they should be able to be saved. Thanks for the post!
Hi, you’ve reached (name)’s answering machine. He/she is not in right now, but I’m totally open for suggestions.
