Recording your professional voicemail greeting can sometimes cause apprehension, especially if you have never done so before. You may find it helpful to go to a very private location when you are ready to record, and this can help ensure there is no background noise when you are finished. Take a few minutes to review the list you made earlier, and rehearse the greeting a few times if you are extremely nervous. While you are rehearsing, make sure your speech flows smoothly and you do not use filler words like "uh" or "um". Is Amazon actually giving you the best price? If you've really got six other numbers to list it's easier to just mention a website that people can go to, because I'm not going to be able to write them all down in one go anyway. If you started your company more than a year ago, it’s probably time to change your voicemail script. Your recording should match the brand, tone, and voice of your company — just as though a caller were speaking to a member of your team.
Voicemail will give you a brief description of the three steps involved in setting up your mailbox - setting a passcode, recording a greeting for your callers and recording your name. "Enter digits for your passcode." Your security code may not be less than four digits and no more than fifteen digits. For security purposes the system will not accept codes which are consecutive, sequential or your extension. Voicemail will repeat your passcode to you. Remember to keep this passcode secret and to change it regularly. (We recommend monthly.) "Press D" (the 3 key on your dial pad) to discard your greeting and record it again. Changing Voicemail Settings in 8x8 Admin Console Find the user profile for whom you want to edit voicemail settings. Click the pencil icon to the right of the user profile. Go to Voicemail settings. To set your first and last name for your voicemail greeting, follow the instructions here. Enter the email that you wish to receive voicemail alerts. Select one of the following notification settings: Disable Notification (disable email notification) Attachment only (receive an email with the audio file attached) Attachment only and delete original voicemail (this will delete the original voicemail from your extension) Notification only (required for Voicemail Transcription feature) [Optional] Click Reset access PIN to set a numeric code for accessing your voicemail via your desk phone.
