You know, I have never given any thought, what so ever, to how my voicemail sounds to others, especially business associates. I am rather ashamed of how mine sounds.. now that I have read your article! I am going right now to change my to a more personable one. (I have the pre-recorded automated one that came with my phone, gggeeezzz)!
When clients or customers want to learn more about your business, oftentimes after checking out your website and social media, if they have further questions regarding your products or services, they’ll pick up the phone and call.
If you've really got six other numbers to list it's easier to just mention a website that people can go to, because I'm not going to be able to write them all down in one go anyway. When someone is trying to reach you and they can’t get you on the line, they want to leave a message right away and get on with their day. If your voicemail greeting goes on for minutes on end, chances are they aren’t going to stick around until they hear the beep.
You’ve reached the voicemail of [your name], [your job title]. I’m currently either away from my desk or on the other line. Please leave your name, telephone number, and a short message after the beep, and I’ll be sure to get back to you as soon as I’m available.” Open the Google Voice app . At the top left, tap Menu. Settings. In the Voicemail section, tap Voicemail greeting. Tap Record a greeting. Tap Record . Record your greeting and when you’re done, tap Stop . Choose what you want to do with the recording: To listen to the recording, tap Play . Should you say your name in your voicemail?
Though it may seem weird and nonsensical to you, it really works. When you smile as you speak, you are able to sound happy, cheerful, and upbeat. Don’t knock it ‘til you try it.
Simply speak into your phone or computer while recording a greeting with your business phone service. If you need to create your own audio file, the voice memo app on your phone should do fine.
