New businesses are another top candidate for VOIP systems. If you are just launching a small business then you know how tight a budget can be as you start building a base of loyal clients. Extra, unnecessary costs can be a quick way to deplete your new businesses’ limited finances. Instead of choosing a phone line for your new business, you should at least consider VOIP as a more affordable alternative. Plus, as a new business owner, you will likely be taking on many different roles which may not allow you to be available beside your desk phone at all times. With VOIP, you can continue to do everything you need to do with your business, wherever that may be, and accept calls on a number of different devices like your smartphone or laptop.

Satisfied customers of Google Voice services cite routing abilities, voicemail capabilities, screening capabilities, and SMS features as the main reasons for their satisfaction. Unhappy users of Google voice services complain about the difficulty of porting numbers from landlines and the lack of customer support.
This is it. If you are not satisfied with the custom voicemail greeting, then follow the same steps and do it again.
Remember to watch out for ambient noise on your end of the call as well. Train signals, traffic, or even outside conversations can be very distracting to your callers and project an unprofessional image. Don’t forget the beep. Every millisecond – yes, millisecond – between the end of your greeting and the beep is time callers could potentially drop the call. That’s why the anticipated beep should sound the moment your greeting is finished. Leaving lengthy, silent gaps may cause your customers to wonder if they’ve been disconnected. Don’t give them the opportunity to hang up waiting to hear that affirmative tone. Check and then recheck your greeting. After you complete your outgoing voicemail message, play it back to verify you’ve said everything you intended to say. Then take it a step further and dial in to experience the greeting for yourself, and be mindful to contemplate the greeting from the customer’s perspective.
Each of the plans covers up to five lines, but if you need additional numbers, you can customize your package by contacting the support team.

Before even making that phone call and leaving a business voicemail, you need to take the time to think every message through. Take notes or have a sheet of paper containing all the information you need to say. Especially if you’ve recently changed your offers or if this is your first time to leave voicemail messages, thinking your message through ensures that you exude confidence and professionalism upon making the call.

This is a comment on Nextiva, which we went to about three months ago. Please think long and hard before you use them. While we like the phone system itself, customer service and training knowledge is a nightmare. I have dealt with managers and our own sales rep that will not return calls or emails, training that is confusing and not knowledgeable of the system, different people relaying different ways to use their product, etc. It has been a nightmare from the moment we signed on the dotted line as far as their customer service.
