I’m actively researching phone services for our company, and I agree with some of the others. This is an overview more than a review, doesn’t go in-depth enuff. But, it’s a good start for me, I did find it helpful, weblinks are easily accessible. Just not as informative as I’d expected and hoped.
When you have new voicemail, the Phone tab in the Skype for Business main window displays the number of your messages. See Contact Card opens the caller's contact card, which lists their phone number, email address, office location, and so on. Open Item in Outlook provides more information about the call.

The AT&T Synapse works the way you do — no headaches, hassles or hidden costs. Large backlit displays, web-based system administration, familiar call handling and features, scheduled-based auto attendant, built-in voicemail, dial-by-name (first or last) functionality, and inbound call routing rules, the Synapse has the most features in its class.
For those with voicemail greetings that get changed about as often as a new president is elected, know that this is doing a serious disservice to the caller-recipient relationship. It signals to callers that the business is anything but an authority, most likely not very detail oriented, and has questionable overall credibility and competency.
2. “Hi! We’re glad you called [company name]. We’re happy to help but we are either on the line with another client or on the go! Please let us know your name, number, and reason for your call today. As soon as we become available, we will call you right back. Thanks!” Ask your callers to leave a short message so you can determine when to return their call.
VoIP phone systems let businesses log into their dashboard to make configuration changes like adding phone numbers or users. In that same web-based workspace, they can manage users’ voicemail boxes.
(I use Verizon. My Smartphone IS my business phone. I got rid of the land line a year ago.)
The Nextiva platform, like other Grasshopper alternatives, unifies your business communication. Its VoIP phone service and features turn prospects into loyal customers.

These business phone systems support more than just a large network for inbound and outbound calls. Most of these systems are VoIP-based phone systems with cloud hosting options. This enables a more affordable and scalable solution that supports collaboration between employees. This collaboration can also be done through several applications. It also provides you and your employees with the capacity to work outside of the office.
In practice, most businesses are simply handling this on a case-by-case basis since COVID is a temporary problem. Most home networks can handle the extra load as long as the employee makes sure that other latency-sensitive traffic, like gaming or video streaming, is kept to a minimum during the hours when they need to talk. If some home routers develop problems, IT staff simply build a queue and handle those one at a time. Sometimes they'll be able to access the router remotely with the employee's permission, sometimes they'll have to walk that employee through configuration steps to fix the problem. Sometimes the employee will just have to live with it unless the company springs for a new router or a higher bandwidth tier from the employee's ISP.
Another function of the web portal is access to file management. Users can click a few menu items to download any message they like.
Multi-tier call menus ( a.k.a. sub-menu) provide additional call menus for teams and departments. Use this feature if you have a department that requires its own call menu. For example, if you have a customer service department, you can set up a multi-tier call menu customized just for that team - 'Press 1 for product support' and 'Press 2 for billing questions'. From here, you can direct callers to colleagues who are specialized in these areas.
30. Hello, you’ve reached [your name]. I’m currently out of the office and will return on [X date]. If your call requires urgent attention, please call [Name] at [phone number] and they’ll be happy to assist you. If not, leave a message and I’ll return your call when I get back.
The vast majority of small businesses are now using data network services delivered over fiber optic lines for their telephone service. Many of my customers are electing to use Voice over IP (VoIP) that we deliver to them using Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).
Now that you know what you want your customers to do when they leave a message, you have to make sure that message is coming off clearly. Run it by a couple of your colleagues and ask them if your greeting makes sense and adjust wherever necessary. If you’re speaking too fast, slow down. Accounting isn’t the most inviting profession.
