1.) Welcome to John Doe. Unfortunately, there is no one in the office right now or your are calling outside of business hours. Please leave a message or send an email to info@johndoe.de. Many thanks for your call.
If someone takes the time to call and leave you a voice message, they usually have a reason that they are calling. It does convey a certain level of interest when someone is willing to hop on the phone with you. If they were less interested, they would probably send you an email or fill out a form on your website.
.
State your number right after your name. Many people wait until the very end of the message to state their number. This will irritate the receiver of your message because if he doesn’t get it down, he then has to sit through the whole damn message again to hear it repeated.
After helping tens of thousands of companies set up voicemail systems, we’ve learned that there is no set of rules defining what makes a great business voicemail, but there are definitely some key points that you should aim to hit. Before you hit the record button for your voicemail message, take some of these tips into account:
Hello, you've reached The Lakeshore Health Clinic. We are not currently available to take your call. Our office hours are from Monday through Friday, 10 to 6. If this is a medical emergency, hang up and call 911. Otherwise, please leave your message at the tone along with your name and phone number, and we will return your call as soon as possible.
Weren’t these messages funny and wacky for your machine. Of course, you have to be a bit careful as to what you say and record on your machine. You don’t want to offend anyone or say something that might upset your listeners. So be absolutely sure. And, if you have any more voicemail ideas, do let us know by leaving a comment below. Till then, I’d like to… beep.

Notify the caller about when the message will be heard and when they can expect to hear back from you. If you’ll be out of the office a few hours, a few days or a couple of weeks – let them know.
39. Thank you for calling. I apologize for missing your call. I’m busy right now, but if you leave your name, number and message, I will return your call as soon as possible.
Put some thought into your message before you hit “record.” It takes very little time to write a script for yourself to read as you record your greeting. Reading off a script eliminates unnecessary pauses, “ums” and “ahs.”
4.) Welcome to Mr. John Doe. Mr. Doe is away from his desk. Please leave a message that Mr. Doe can call you back as soon as possible. Many thanks for your call.
