Part of my issue is that I really probably do need the NHS and local gov't to be able to leave me voicemail (not least because the NHS isn't set up to deal with e-mailing patients, at least not where I am at the moment), but for pretty much everyone else EVER I will call them back much sooner if I don't have the mental hurdle of voicemail first (where the fundamental difference is that by and large the NHS & gov't don't give a shit if I call them back...). So uh. Yeah. :-/

After all, a professional voicemail recording boosts your credibility, makes you seem more competent, and encourages whoever's listening to it to continue the relationship.

At least if people who aren't the NHS or local gov't leave me voicemail, I will at this point have 0 compunction about just ignoring it because I did give them fair warning ;) Which in turn means I'm likely to call them back sooner...

  • example of a business voicemail greeting

Professional voicemail greetings for work can be critical for giving your business a good level of credibility. By using one of our ready-made messages, you can save yourself time and impress the other party.

The bottom line is that a business’s situation is likely to change often and rapidly, each of which need a unique and applicable voicemail greeting to cover the circumstances and timeline. For example, callers shouldn’t reach a business-as-usual voicemail, and therefore expect a return call within the business day, if the subject they’re calling is out on vacation for two weeks. Such a lack of communication is a recipe to lose that caller’s trust and tarnish the brand’s reputation.
Note: The best voicemail message you can leave is one with a specific purpose that addresses the needs of your prospect or client, and offers them a solution that is worth them taking the time to call you back to learn more about.

  • how to set up at&t digital answering machine

Voice-mail is an example of an electronic system that is used to record and store voice messages when we are away from our phones. I often judge organizations based on the ease of getting through the layers of electronic screenings to get my questions answered or speak to a live person.

If your auto-attendant starts with the main menu of options, it needs to be clear and have the option to speak with a human-being if the question isn’t answered by the list of options. Try something like this:
The scenario is that they want to send a private or confidential voicemail and ensure that the recipient can't forward that message to certain people or people not on some approved list. Apparently their former voicemail was able to accomplish this task.

  • business voicemail greeting with hours

-You have reached the voice mailbox of (your name). If you’re a hot chick/guy, you may leave a message at the tone. If your one of (your name)’s friends, you may also leave a message at the tone. If you’re not hot and not one of (your name)’s friends, call back when you are.

The simple truth is that you need to be more aware of what you’re leaving for other people to hear. Sure, this doesn’t always register as a priority for users, but it’s never too late to reassess your greeting. a. Reading/Speaking in the Imperfect Tone: Tone is absolutely everything. Users don’t want to come off as being too nice, as it sounds insincere, or being too terse, as it can be interpreted as being rude. That being said, striking the right balance is absolutely essential. Your greeting exists as its own entity, and therefore, it should NOT rely on callers’ familiarity with you. Instead, it needs to appeal to the masses. As such, your inflection, i.e. the way you state your name and directions, needs to be both welcoming and firm. b. Injecting Humor & Insincerity: While humor/light heartedness can be welcoming, it can also convey a sense of informality, insincerity, and ultimately unprofessionalism. Why, because you’re not there to lend your humor or to contextualize. Instead, you’re assuming the caller has a working knowledge of your personality to ground the message. Though this might not sound like it’s all that terrible—it can be detrimental. As stated above, one should NEVER rely on a caller’s familiarity with you. Instead, aim to appeal to the masses. Humor is ultimately subjective, meaning not everyone has the same tastes; therefore, someone is bound to be turned off by a quirky or off-color remark. While implementing a light-hearted or even tongue and cheek tone can work, it’s just a really bad idea.
