Timing is everything. The moment you receive the lead alert is the best time to make the follow-up call. If you call them days later, your chances of getting them on the phone are greatly diminished. When you have new voicemail, the Phone tab in the Skype for Business main window displays the number of your messages. Mine says "Please don't leave a voicemail because I probably won't be able to understand it. Email or text me instead." It seems to mostly work, in concert with telling people that my handset can't do voice calls (which is true).
